Junior Digital Content Strategist



Job Description

We’re looking for a new client-facing Junior Digital Content Strategist to join our award-winning creative team in our London office. The successful candidate will be working with our global fashion clients and production team to craft distinctive brand content.

Role & Responsibilities
This role will excite a Junior Digital Content Strategist or recent graduate with a passion for developing top level brand content for the digital environment. Working under our Managing Director, the Digital Content Strategist will be key to BARDS Collective producing digital content around a brand’s best stories and ideas.

Responsibilities fall into a couple of broad areas:

1. Client development, including:

  • Assisting in proposal writing and preparation, preparing striking and engaging presentations
  • Integrating insights throughout projects into written reports
  • Developing an in-depth understanding of our approach to content creation and storytelling
  • Regular communication with clients in person and on the phone and interpreting their briefs

2. Assisting in the management of digital content production, from initial brief and concept development through to delivery, including:

  • Developing fresh, original creative ideas and concepts for brand content campaigns, in partnership with the art director
  • Writing clear, persuasive, original content for different audiences across global markets
  • Updating social media with snappy, timely content
  • Proofreading copy to check spelling and grammar
  • Amending, revising or redeveloping content campaigns in response to feedback from thecreative director, account team or clients
  • Working on several campaigns at once, sometimes under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Thinking creatively, devising imaginative and intelligent brand content based on client briefs
  • Delivering work to brief on time and on budget, to the highest quality
  • Managing client and stakeholder expectations
  • Understanding what will work for a client and what is technically and financially feasible
  • Proficiency in discussing the client’s core message and target audience
  • Staying abreast of competitor activities and successful campaigns delivered by other agencies

Recruitment Process
It’s imperative that new members of staff are a good fit for the existing team. As such, we have the following recruitment process:

1. CV review
2. 1st Phone interview
3. 2nd and final In-person panel interview / Skype call
4. Start – Mid May / June 2016

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a startup environment with client-facing experience preferable
  • Familiarity with digital marketing practices and analytics
  • Education to degree level preferable
  • Excellent/native communication and English language skills (Italian language skills considered a plus)
  • Skilled in writing clear, concise and grammatically correct copy, with a strong eye for detail
  • Experience working in dynamic teams
  • Understanding of what makes a good story
  • Understanding in planning and executing brand social campaigns
  • Experience in performing due diligence on all content to be published, ensuring that it is truthful and complies with codes of advertising practice
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficient use of creative software
