Italian Sales Executive



Job Description

You will enjoy a varied role and will have responsibility for the day to day management of display advertising revenue for the monthly investment publication Citywire Italy.  Working as part of a strong international publishing sales team your primary goal is to grow the magazine revenue that is generated from client advertising and sponsorship. However, the role is broader than pure hard copy advertising sales and includes an online and events sponsorship component. The candidate would be expected to work with our online and events sales teams to grow the overall revenue of the Citywire Italy franchise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business development
  • You will develop successful relationships with the existing clients of  the Citywire Italy business and keep your eye on the market for new entrants
  • You will be expected to develop an excellent knowledge of Citywire and all its product lines – publishing, digital, data, events, research – and be expected to talk fluently about all of them.
  • You will develop a proper understanding of the Italian asset management industry and be able to speak knowledgeably to senior executives within the industry.
  • You will travel to the region and develop new relationships with new entrants to the market and new contacts within the existing client base.
  • You will be responsible for selling advertising space both online at and in our Italian publication

What you’ll need:

  • You will have at least one years’ experience in a client facing sales role.
  • You will be a fluent Italian and English speaker.
  • Media sales knowledge is advantageous.
  • Having previous knowledge or having an interest in learning about financial services is ideal.
  • Your written and verbal communication skills will be exceptional.
  • You will want to progress and “get on with it” without having to be told to do so.
  • You will work under your own initiative and not require micro-management.
  • You will be a little bit fearless and intrepid and enjoy the excitement of exploring new markets.
  • Relationship building will be second nature to you and you’ll enjoy meeting people and influencing their behaviour.
  • People would describe you as energetic, enthusiastic and tenacious.
