Event Marketing Executive Italian and English Speaker



Job Description

The person will be responsible for marketing activities for Italian speaking regions for a 12 month fixed term contract with potential to extend to permanent contract. For QS, this is a developing market and we need someone to come and ‘hit the ground running’ by maintaining existing media partners and crucially developing new ones for us. There is a strong emphasis on the ability to negotiate media partnerships and PR communication coverage of QS products in the whole region.

The successful person should be able to speak both Italian and English very fluently and work on their own initiative, pursuing our PR and communication activities with associates in Italy, media partners, websites, and portals and sourcing new marketing channels. Additionally, the person will support the Asian marketing team for the events we run in English speaking countries in the region.

Specific Tasks:

  • Overall responsibility for searching key new institutions, media and websites to partner with us and drive the quality and quantity of candidates to our student recruitment events in the region. Also includes researching opportunities in new markets in this region.
  • Establishing contacts within Marketing departments and reps in the media houses within Italy.
  • Managing the editors and journalists relationship on PR output produced by QS and working with them leading up to the events.
  • Overall responsibility for researching, liaising and partnering with testing centres, education institutions, etc. for marketing our student recruitment events. Managing the overall production process of print and web advertising, editorial, below-the-line output (flyers, posters, etc.).
  • Organizing campus marketing campaigns in the key universities in Italy.
  • Building relationships with the Deans’ offices of the key local universities in order to increase the presence of the Italian institutions in the Times QS World University Rankings.
  • Responsibility for managing the pre and post-fair communications with Media Partners (newspapers, magazines, websites and institutions) and ensuring that have received all event-related information, and other media follow-ups.


  • Solid 1 year practical working experience in event marketing is essential; PR, Communications and digital marketing will be a plus.
  • Has an understanding of Italian media channels and sources. An established contact network of media within the region is a plus.
  • A keen interest and ability in business development and negotiating.
  • Proven track record in managing media communications deals and managing them on a continuous basis.
  • Verbal and written fluency in English and Italian is essential
  • Proactive and a self-starter.
